How does outdoor cinema hire work?
Choose Mini Cinema, Starry Night, Hollywood Garden or Magic Movie Night. We deliver, inflate the screen, set up projector and sound, test everything with you, and pack down after your movie night.
What is included in the Mini Cinema package?
A 3.6m inflatable screen, HD projector, large PA sound system, delivery, setup and pack down. You supply a laptop or streaming device. From R 2 875 per day.
Can I watch Netflix, Showmax or Disney+?
Yes. Bring your own laptop or device with your streaming accounts. Starry Night and higher packages include popcorn hire options. Ask us about a streaming device if needed.
What time should the movie start?
After dusk works best. We schedule setup so the screen and projector are ready when the sky is dark enough for a clear picture.
What do I need to provide?
A power source, a flat area for the screen, your movie or streaming login, and guests! We handle screen, projector, sound and setup.
How much space does the screen need?
Our 3.6m screen needs a flat lawn or patio roughly 5m wide with clearance behind for the projector. Larger crowds may need our 5m screen option. Ask us when you book.
What happens if it rains?
Outdoor cinema needs dry weather. Contact us as soon as conditions change. We will advise on shelter, rescheduling or moving indoors where possible. See our weather section below.
Can I add popcorn to my cinema night?
Yes! Starry Night includes a popcorn machine with up to 50 servings. You can also add popcorn hire to any cinema package.
Will the sound disturb my neighbours?
Our PA is sized for your guest list and venue. Tell us about nearby homes when you book and we will set levels appropriately.
Can I hire for more than one night?
Yes. Additional hire days are R 1 300. Popular for weekend celebrations and school camps.

Movie night magic needs the right space, power and a plan for when the sun goes down.
Flat open lawn or patio
Allow roughly 5m width for the screen plus space behind for the projector. Check for sprinklers and holes in the lawn.
Power to the garden
You need mains power for the screen blower, projector and speakers. An outdoor plug or safe extension run from the house works.
Plan for dusk
Picture quality is best after dark. We schedule setup so you are ready when the sky is dark enough.
Test your movie beforehand

Weather policy & instructions
Outdoor cinema is our most weather-dependent hire. Screen, projector, speakers and cabling need dry, stable conditions — a clear backup plan is part of a successful movie night.
Ideal conditions
Clear, dry evenings with light wind give the best picture and sound. Arrive-ready venues with flat lawn or patio, power and a dark viewing area after sunset work best.
- Dry ground for seating and cable runs
- Wind below levels that whip the screen fabric excessively
- Power available within the agreed cable run distance
- Backup indoor room or garage identified before guests arrive
Rain — do not use equipment wet
Heavy rain, drizzle on open setups, and active thunderstorms mean the cinema cannot run safely outdoors. Projector and electronics must stay dry at all times.
- If rain is forecast, confirm your indoor backup before we deliver
- Stop the screening and cover equipment immediately if rain starts unexpectedly
- Never leave projector or speakers exposed overnight in dew or rain
- Contact us the day before if the forecast worsens — rescheduling may be available
Wind and temperature
Moderate wind can move inflatable or framed screens and affect sound. Cold still nights are fine; evening dew may require earlier pack-down — follow times on your booking sheet.
- Anchor seating and keep guy lines clear of walkways where applicable
- Use wireless mics indoors if wind noise is an issue for announcements
- Dress warmly for guests — weather affects comfort even when equipment is fine
